Reinstalling Your Operating System

Have you reinstalled your operating system in the past two years? If not, you could be significantly limiting your experience on your computer.

Just like anything that stores information, over time your computer can become worn down. You probably have plenty of folders and applications on your computer that you don’t need. You also likely have remnants of past programs and applications in your system’s registry, which can also effectively slow down your computer.

Whatever the case may be, it is important to keep your computer in shape. There are utilities that can help you to do this, however, just by reinstalling your operating system every once in a while gives you a fresh start.

To do this, simply backup your important applications and data on your computer. Then, depending on your system, reinstall your operating system to get your computer the way it was on day one. Once you install all necessary programs and transfer your files/data on your computer, you will be ready to go; fresh with a new system.

Sometimes, it is simply easier to wipe all unnecessary information from your computer and then put back on what is needed. You can also start organizing your bookmarks and folders once you take a look at these building blocks, before you begin downloading other programs and utilities.

Make sure to do this every once in a while, and certainly no more than once a year (unless it is needed for some reason). This is a great way to start fresh and clear your system of different types of clutter. As always, be sure to back up all important information—especially when you decide to clean your system. This is one of the best things that you can do for your operating system when it begins moving slower than normal.
